Contamination from firefighting foam found in private wells near Dover Air Force Base

Officials say high levels of toxic chemicals have been detected in four private wells near Dover Air Force Base, impacting five businesses, an office building and two homes.

Capt. Ashleigh Peck, a spokesperson for the base, said the Air Force is not releasing the specific locations of the wells "out of respect for the privacy of the well owners." 

They are located west and northwest of the base, Peck said in an email.
