MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — How safe is the drinking water in your neighborhood?
That's what scientists with the Air Force Environmental Program are monitoring at the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base.
The site closed in 1993, but when it was open there used to be military training exercises done on site and that left behind toxic chemicals, which are now constantly being monitored.
Much of that area now includes The Market Common.
