Warwick homeowners caught in limbo as military investigates contamination

Homeowners with contaminated water wells have waited more than a year to be connected to the public system. But the military now says it might not be its fault.

Hecht, 55, is one of the more than 200 homeowners straddling the Bucks-Montgomery county line who have received bad news about their private water wells in recent years. Hecht’s came in the form of a September 2016 letter from the Navy.
“Your well tested above the lifetime health advisory for PFOS and/or PFOA,” the letter read, referring to toxic firefighting foam chemicals used for decades at nearby bases that studies have linked to a variety of health effects including some cancers.
