'It's not us against them': Community weighs in on military buildup

Economic growth and environmental impact appeared to be on opposing sides of the planned military buildup on Guam, but testimony from both sides during a Wednesday hearing expressed unity in doing what's right for the people of Guam.
Sen. Michael San Nicolas, D-Dededo, and other senators heard comments of proponents and opponents of Resolution 294-34, which expresses support for the military buildup on Guam for the sake of peace and stability in the region.
“We are all here as One Guam. The reason why this resolution is so necessary is because these are all undertones that are finally coming out. Instead of everyone talking around the issue, let’s just speak plainly toward it. Let’s evaluate it for its merits." San Nicolas said.
