CORPUS CHRISTI - Improvements to County Road 52 in Calallen have much to
do with business being conducted in Ingleside, said members of the
Ingleside Local Redevelopment Authority.
The group charged with planning the redevelopment of 155 surplus acres
at Naval Station Ingleside agrees that the economy of the area affected
by the base's closure will benefit from the Calallen-area project

base, which is near Kiewit, is scheduled to close by Sept. 30, 2010.

and indirect jobs as a result of the closure. The road improvements were
among seven items approved as part of the authority's federal stimulus
projects.
