At public meeting on Dresser contamination, residents have their say

TIOGA — Despite two public meetings held about contamination to areas near the former Dresser plant, some residents don't believe they're getting enough information.
Thursday night during the latest public meeting held at Mary Goff Elementary School, people sat through presentations — marred by technical difficulties with microphones and projectors — that provided some new information about the efforts to clean the site and surrounding areas.

Dresser began manufacturing pressure relief valves for the oil and gas industry at the Shreveport Highway site in 1961. It was bought in 2011 by General Electric Oil & Gas.
