Cleanup completed at Long Dock Beacon brownfield

BEACON – Cleanup of contamination at the Long Dock Beacon brownfield site on the Hudson River at the City of Beacon has been completed.

The Scenic Hudson Land Trust, which owns the property, performed the remediation with oversight by the state Department of Environmental Conservation.

Portions of the peninsula adjacent to the Hudson River had previous uses as a salvage yard, a major oil storage facility and an unregulated fill site.
