Pointe Blue development advances

RACINE - Pointe Blue, slated to be the city’s largest-ever real estate 
development, moved forward Friday when the developer tightened his hold 
on Pugh Marina.

Assuming he can complete his financing, Racine native Scott Fergus will 
soon control all of the Pointe Blue site through his company, KeyBridge 
Development. Fergus already controls the north end of the site, the 
former Walker Manufacturing property.

Two previous closings had been postponed. The chief obstacle has 
involved the Walker brownfield site, which is contaminated from its 
industrial past. That fact has made some national lenders very nervous, 
Fergus said.
